Introduction
The Product Details screen is where you can input all of your information
about your product. If you have any questions about the information in the
Product Details screen, the answer is below. If you have questions about how
this information can be used in your eBay template, see Template TAGS
The Product Details screen will be displayed. All product specific
information is entered here. Once all required information has been entered,
the product becomes ready to list on a selling venue.
Catalogue Item Identification
- If the current item is in possible violation of copyright, the VeRO notification will display at the very top.
- The Catalog Item Number, Catalog Item Name, and UPC/ISBN Barcode will appear as specified when the product was first entered. To change the Catalog Item this product belongs to, click on the Catalog Item Number for this product.
Product Details
- Product#: This is the ProductID for this item. It is the fastest way to search through your inventory and this particular number will be associated with the product from your inventory to your listings, orders and shipping.
- AD Number: Your Ad Number specifies the product Ad template number for the product you are creating/editing.
- Product Title: The title of your item should be very descriptive. This title will be displayed for all auction, storefront and e-Commerce appearances for this item. The title of the product will be generated automatically from its Catalog Item Information. You can specify a new title for the item as well.
- Consignor: If you have the consignment module turned on, you will be able to associate this item with a consignor. You can Add / Modify Consignors directly from this page, as well as Create New Consignment Plans.
- Subtitle: The subtitle for your item is used to help your customers search for the product. If you choose to enter a subtitle, it should consist of as many descriptive words as possible.
- Quantity: How many of this product you have. If this is a catalog item, you can not change the quantity from the Item Details screen. See Manage / Search Inventory for more information.
- Folder: Select a folder for your product.
- Load/SKU Number: If you would like to keep track of where you products come from and which products arrive together, you could specify the Load number here.
- Item Added By: Shows you when the item was added to inventory.
- Last Updated: Shows you who last updated the inventory item.
Product Classifications
- The product classifications displayed for the item will be those configured for the type of product being viewed. If you are interested in using product classifications, see [[Product Classification Categories]] and Product Classification Settings.
Product References
- All information entered in this area will not be displayed to your customers. It is a good idea to store information such as serial numbers and other item unique information here.
- To add more Product References, click on the “Edit References” button. The window displayed will show all current references for the item. From here, you can add, edit or delete product references. When you add new product references, you will be prompted for whether you would like to make the reference a required field for the item.

Product Images
- Note: The appropriate Active X control must be loaded into your browser for this feature to work.
- Multiple images can be added for each product.
- To add an image, click on “Add New Image” and the Laris picture editor will open.
- You can select multiple pictures, edit them, and store them. For more information, see Laris Image Editor
- If you would like pictures to be a mandatory field for the item, select the option “Requires Picture”.
Internal Note
- This area is designated for any internal information you would like stored about the product. This note will never be viewed by your customers.
Additional Description
- Any additional information you would like to say about the product can be indicated here. This information will be displayed to your customers.
- This input field also proves you with a WYSIWYG editor, so inputting HTML is a breeze.
Description
- Enter the main description for your item. This description will be displayed on all auction and storefront venues the item will appear on.
- This input field also proves you with a WYSIWYG editor, so inputting HTML is a breeze.
- Note: HTML input is allowed in this area. Any images inserted must be entered by URL only.
- Note: This description will be used for your e-Commerce listing (if applicable), unless you select to have a separate e-commerce description.
Product Customs Information
- FCC: If the product being described requires its FCC (Federal Communications Commission) approval displayed on the shipping label or if you would like to store its FCC number, enter the number here.
- FDA: If the product being described requires its FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approval displayed on the shipping label or if you would like to store its FDA number, enter the number here.
- Harmonized Tariff Code: This information is usually important if your items are being shipped across international borders.
- Country of Origin: Select the originating country of the product.
- Color: Select the product color (if applicable). To manage colors, click on “Edit Colors” to bring up the color configuration window. You could add, edit, or delete colors. When finished, click the “Close” button to return to the Quality Assurance product view.
Product Pricing
- Specify the pricing information for your product.
- Cost per unit: If available, enter your cost for the item. This information is useful for accounting and profit tracking purposes. If you specify a unit cost, also specify the currency for the entered value.
- MSRP Price: If available, specify the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price for the item. Some auto-pricing calculations use this information for reference. If you specify an MSRP, also specify the currency for the entered value.
- Retail Price: Specifying the retail price is essential. This value is used in auto-pricing calculations and also for accounting purposes. Specify a currency for the retail price entered as well.
- Disable Discounts: If you are using the discount features of the system, you could prevent this item from being subject to discounts by specifying the option here. If this item becomes a part of an order against which a discount is used, the discount will not apply to this item.
e-Commerce Website Product Settings
- If you're using e-commerce, you will see the fields for this section.
- Uncheck the "Do not use" box.
- E-Commerce Price: Specify your price
- Category: Choose a category. Products will not appear on your e-commerce website without a category.
- Category 2: Choose an optional 2nd category.
- Home Page Featured: Checking this box will promote this product on the home page of your website. (Applies to specific templates).
- Category Featured: Checking this box will feature the product in it's category only. (Applies to specific templates).
- Promotional Product: Use this option to show your products in the "Spotlight" section of your website (Applies to specific templates).
- The use general description checkbox is to choose if you want to use the description above for your e-commerce website or if you want to have a separate message for your website. Best Practice: This is useful because many times your regular description has auction type words like "Happy Bidding!" or "Buy-It-Now Price", and that can be confusing in a branded e-commerce setting.
Shopping Comparison Integrations
- Next, you will see any shopping comparison sites that you have set up.
- Click the "Do no use" checkbox.
- Fill in the particular details for that comparison site.

Package Contents
- You can program each product ad template to have default Package Contents.
- This can display on your eBay template. Best Practice: Using Package Contents can be very useful if you have an inventory of slightly varying products. Best Practice: You receive a shipment of XBox 360's (great job!) but some have 2 controllers, some have the manual, some come with a game, some have an additional hard drive and some come with an HD cable. As you're adding each product into inventory, you can specify different package contents, and not have to type out each time. This works best with the catalog add feature in Laris. For more information, see Add Product.
Weight & Measurements
- Weight: Specify the weight of the package and the unit of measurement used.
- Dimensions: Specify the length, width and height dimensions of the package and the unit of measurement used. For decimal measurements, it’s best to round the value to the next largest whole number.
- Boxes: To use a predefined box size instead of manually entering the sizes, select a box from the drop-down list. Boxes can be configured in the Control Panel, Step 15, Packaging Materials.
Shipping Information
- Pick Up Only: If you offer local pickups from your warehouse want to make this item a mandatory pickup item, check this option.
- Handling Fee: If you offer local pickups from your warehouse, specify a handling fee you would like to charge for this item.
- Shipping Only: This will disallow local pickup during checkout.
- Disable Combined Shipping: If you offer combined shipping to your customers and would not like this item to be an eligible for combined shipments, check this option.
- Fixed Shipping: If you would like to specify a fixed shipping fee for this item, you may specify the amount and currency here and make sure to select the “Use Fixed Shipping” option to override the auto-calculated shipping fee. The countries that show up when checking the Fixed Shipping" Box are configured in the Control Panel Step 4, Shipping Destinations. Best Practice: If you do not have different shipping values for each country, remember that you can scroll down and input a value for All Other Configured Countries. This can save you a ton of data entry time.
Quality Assurance Related Options
- Do Not List to eBay: Check this option, if you would like to prevent an item from being listed to eBay for any reason.
eBay Listing Options
- Seller: You can manage as many eBay Accounts as you want with Laris, and you can specify the seller account you want to use for this item here.
- Listing Site: When you list items to eBay, you could choose which eBay site you would like them listed on, such as eBay Motors or eBay UK.
- Listing Template: Your eBay listing template is the style and layout of your product page as it will appear on eBay. You can select either a predefined template or a upload a customized template in the wizard.
- Relist Profile: Choose a Relist Profile for this item. See Auto-Relisting Profiles for more information.
Categories & Attributes
- eBay Category: Click the Pick button to choose a category. You can use the folder organization OR search for a folder. - eBay Category #2: Choose a second eBay category.
- Do not Validate item specifics: Check this option if validation of eBay attributes is not required.
- eBay store category: Select a store category from the drop down. If you do not see your store categories, see eBay Store Category Setup.
- 2nd Store Category: Choose a 2nd store category.
Listing Type
- Specify different eBay title and subtitle: If you want to have a separate eBay title and subtitle, differing from the inventory item title.

- Duration: Choose how long you would like your product’s listing to run for. For more information, click here (http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/duration.html).
- Donate % of Sale: Check this box to donate a percentage of your sales to charity using MissionFish.

Auction Pricing
- Currency: If you are using multiple currencies, choose the currency you want associated with this product.
- Starting price: The starting bid is the price your auction will begin with. The first bid made on your auction must match this value. Click here (http://pages.ebay.com/help/welcome/bid.html) for more information.
- Reserve Price: Check the option and enter a value if you would like this item to have a reserve price. For more information, click here (http://pages.ebay.com/help/buy/buyer-reserve.html).
- Buy-It-Now Price: If your item will be a Buy-It-Now listing, specify a Buy-It-Now price. This price is similar to a retail price. It should be the minimum amount you are willing to sell the item for. For more information, click here (http://pages.ebay.com/help/buy/buyer-bin.html).
Location
- Country: If you would like to specify the originating country for your products, enter it here.
- City, State: This is the city, state that will show up at the top of your eBay listing.</li>
- Use warehouse city, state: This option will default your city, state to the city, state for your warehouse.</li>
- Zip/Postal Code: input your zip code.</li>

Listing Features
- Bold / Highlight Your Listing: Bring more attention to your listing by making them bold or highlighted. Learn more about bold (http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/bold.html) and highlighted (http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/highlight.html) listings.
- Promotion Options: Select from the list of promotion items you would like your listing to have: Featured Plus(http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/featured_plus.html) or Home Page Featured (http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/hpf.html ).
- Gift Services: Select whether you would like to indicate that you offer gift services for your item in your listing. For more information, click here(http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/gift_icon.html).
- Use Gallery: Indicate whether you would like to use eBay’s Gallery (http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/gallery.html) or Gallery Featured (http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/gallery_featured.html) options. here (http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/gallery.html) for more information.
- Counter: Identify whether you would like to show a visitor counter in your listing.
Other integrations
- Amazon: If you have set up an Amazon.com account in Laris, you
will see the Amazon Marketplace Listing options section.

- Overstock Auctions
- If you have an Overstock Auctions account set up in Laris, you will see the necessary interface. Fill in the necessary blank data, and your product will be ready for listing on Overstock.
