Advanced Ideas
Here are some advanced ways to manipulate and manage your inventory.
Duplicate an Inventory Item
Here is how to make an exact duplicate of an existing item. This is essentially how to "Copy & Paste" an inventory item.
1. Find the Product you want to "Copy".
2. Click on the button to change quantity
.

3. If you increase the quantity, and then use the Split Quantity Into Multiple
Product Entries function, with quantity=1. When you navigate out of the
Modal Window, there will be a new product, exactly the same as the one you had
before. Cool right? This can help you if you have a product with only very
slight differences, or you want to have a product with only slight listing
differences. You can even have the title contain the listing specifics,
and the Separate eBay Title have your product
title for organization purposes.
Using On-Hold
You can put products on Hold for many reasons, here are some suggestions:
- If you get a phone order, you can put a quantity on hold so you can't oversell it on other online Venues. This is especially important if you are using Auto-Relisting Profiles that are automatically pushing listings based on a set criteria.
- Using On-Hold can be useful if you have a retail location or have the opportunity to sell in person. If someone is going to pick up a product, you can put it on hold,
- If you want to keep a quantity available at all times for returns or defects, you can keep track of your total available inventory, and keep some on hold for this occurrence.
- These are only some suggestions, you can use this feature to suit your business however necessary. Just think of it as you're keeping a stash of product off of all online venues for any reason.
